Are you interested in broadening your postdoc experience at Duke by networking with individuals from diverse backgrounds – i.e., from underrepresented groups, international, and/or from different fields of research? If so, come out and meet your fellow postdocs and graduate students at the Duke Diversity Postdoc Alliance Social. Snacks and beer will be provided.
This social is sponsored by the Duke University Postdoctoral Association (DUPA), Office of Biomedical Graduate Diversity, Duke Diversity Postdoc Alliance, and Duke Postdoctoral Services.
Join us for December’s social in the CIEMAS lobby from 4pm on Friday the 13th.
We’ve got to empty the stores so clock off work early for some free beer, wine and cider
The Duke University Postdoc Association (DUPA) pub night for June will be at Bull City Burger and Brewery (107 East Parrish Street, Durham) Friday November 22nd from 6pm. We have a table reserved out the back on the patio with a couple of “towers of power” set up and I’ll try to make a sign out of a Duke Postdocs t-shirt.
Please feel free to bring your partners and family! For those coming from campus who don’t want to drive, the bar is easily accessible from the Magnum Street stop of the Bull City Connector or walking distance from the Durham Bus Station.
If you’ve never been to Bull City Burger and Brewery, you can check them out online here:
RSVP on Facebook so I know how many towers to get:
Tired of the neighborhood kids eating all your candy?
DUPA will be holding a post-halloween happy hour on Friday November 1st from 3.30 – 6 pm with piles of candy and free drinks in the LSRC atrium.
This will replace our October pub night, November pub night is tentatively scheduled for Friday November 22nd.
Check out our facebook event page to stay up to date with our latest event.
DUPA organized several events in August and September: we had a successful first Duke Diversity Postdoc Alliance Social on August 16, the monthly Pubnight at Fullsteam on the 26th, and the Duke Football Tailgate on Sept 3rd! Below are some pictures.
